It is December, and around this time of the year, people tend to go wild around here (stock up on a lot of booze, meat, money, etc) and just enjoy themselves. Luckily, I am not one of those “crazy” people that take a strong liking into such activity πŸ™‚ I am more relaxed, I enjoy having fun by myself (strangely). I thought I should put this post out on what I have been up to for my summer break.

BRAAI….BRAAI….BRAAI!!

Just getting the fire ready for the braai...a good 15 minute wait
Just getting the fire ready for the braai…a good 15 minute wait

If there is anything that I have been loving the most about my break, is the fact I now can braai at the comfort of my house πŸ™‚ Nothing beats setting up the fire, sitting on camping chairs and just letting the warm sun rays grace your skin – of course, a drink or two is a must-have πŸ™‚ After the flames are ready, the best part comes into play. This is putting the actual meat on the braai stand, allowing it to cook. Here you can have conversations with friends, play some funky music….anything goes….as long as the meat doesn’t get burnt!! πŸ˜€

CATCHING UP WITH THE ANIME

Catching up with all the anime I have not had time to watch this year....Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood was the bomb!!
Catching up with all the anime I have not had time to watch this year….Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood was the bomb!!

This is another favorite of mine….with all this time I have got, I have been catching up with anime that I have downloaded, but have not watched due to time constraints in the course of this year. As you probably havve guessed, I watch anime lying on my bed, with a cup of coffee on side, and the laptop placed on the table next to my bed. πŸ™‚ I started with finishing Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood which I must say, I highly enjoyed. Going to be moving on to Code Geass, Sword Art Online and Kill la Kill πŸ˜€

I have also had the chance of catching up with the Naruto manga and started reading the Shingeki no Kyojin manga which I am really loving at this point πŸ˜€

THE SOAPIES

Catching up with Generations (TV Show in South Africa). This was the best moment for me in the TV series....don't mess with Mam'Ruby!!
Catching up with Generations (TV Show in South Africa). This was the best moment for me in the TV series….don’t mess with Mam’Ruby!!

Although I do not miss this part too much, I thought it is worth mentioning here. With the free time I have gotten, I have sort of caught up with my favorite local soapies on TV. These are Scandal! and Isidingo. Generations is not my favorite, but it is worth while watching anyway. This helps take me away from all the crap going on in the country πŸ™‚

THE GAMES

Just doing the races that I have not completed in Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2012...this game is still fun, amazing graphics, insane jumps...love it!
Just doing the races that I have not completed in Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2012…this game is still fun, amazing graphics, insane jumps…love it!

Ihave had the time to just open up my laptop and play some games that I have been meaning to complete, or to get started with. I am currently playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2012, Blur (on Tunngle), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare [with friends on Tunngle], Dishonoured, Mass Effect 3, Split/Second [on Tunngle]. I was going to be playing Need For Speed: Rivals but the game is completely buggered up on PC πŸ™ So much money gone to waste :(….I am a racing game fan, so I am hoping The Crew will not be as bad as Need For Speed: Rivals on PC

CHILLING AT THE MALL

Hemingways Mall....it is by far one of the best malls I have been to

I cannot forget this place; this is by far one of the best malls I have been to. There is just so much do here, from paintball to gambling at the casino (I won R30.00, took the money and ran!!). This is where I have been hanging out with a couple of my close friends. The only downside to this, is it is full of people (tends to get a little crowded) and I run into some people from my old high school of which I have to put on a fake smile and pretend I am happy to see them.

Seeing as my old clothes have gotten a little big for me (I have been going to the gym), I have had to buy myself new threads…Will be going on holiday soon, so I will spare the last bit of cash for more clothes πŸ™‚

STARTED DRIVING LESSONS

Just entered the driving industry....definitely not an easy task!!
Just entered the driving industry….definitely not an easy task!!

I had acquired my learners license around September 2013. The test wasn’t hard, just it was quite easy to fail. At the time of writing, the invigilator was this really scary woman who would bite your head off at any moment! Now that I have my learners license, I started driving lessons….the first lesson was a total disaster….I saw flames!! Getting the whole clutch control idea in my head took a while…..and using 2 feet also took a while πŸ™ Luckily I can somewhat drive, change gears and all. Hopefully my situation will get a lot better! πŸ˜€

A FEW BOOKS I HAVE TO READ

Just one of the books I will be reading this break...time to restore them brain cells!!
Just one of the books I will be reading this break…time to restore them brain cells!!

I have decided to start reading some interesting books these holidays. I will be starting with A Short History of Nearly EverythingΒ by Bill Bryson. I have heard a lot of good things about this book, hell, a friend of mine recommended I read this book!! I will also take the time to read a Nelson Mandela book and hopefully start reading the Game of Thrones books πŸ˜€

FORUMS…LOVE THESE!

MyBroadband - This is my favorite forum...so much intelligence in this forum!!
MyBroadband – This is my favorite forum…so much intelligence in this forum!!

I love using Forums…reason being is that I personally find these a lot more interesting than Facebook or Twitter, the social networks where people just post dumb stuff that makes one cringe. MyBroadband Forums is my most favorite forum, followed by MyGaming, AllKPop Forums and Soompi. All 4 of these forums are pretty much my “internet” world.

Of course, there are other things that I will be doing such as keeping up with my music, just relaxing, helping out when needed, but I feel the holiday schedule I have will keep me entertained. Im hoping I can also start learning another programming language, seeing as I am an IT Student, but time will tell πŸ˜€
